December 2, 2015
Once the leaves are gone even from the oaks and there have been some nights of hard, killing frost, any rain that comes along seems a little wintery no matter how high above freezing we are. And we are well above freezing right now. But while this early December drizzle has garnered its share of neighborly groans and complaints, the mistiness and stillness have a calming, centering quality. From thin twigs small drops
fall onto the lake’s calm face—
One transparent mind
